Jorge Rubinetti

Jorge Alberto Rubinetti (born 31 March 1945) is an Argentine chess master.

He won four times Argentine Chess Championship (1971, 1982, 1988, and 1991)[1] and played eight times for Argentina in Chess Olympiads (1968, 1970, 1972, 1974, 1980, 1982, 1988, and 1992).[2]

In 1975, he won in Quito. Rubinetti took 9th at Buenos Aires / Rio Hondo 1966 (the 6th Torneio Zonal Sulamericano, Henrique Mecking, Julio Bolbochan, Oscar Panno, and Alberto Foguelman won),[3] took 5th at Mar del Plata 1969 (zonal, Miguel Najdorf and Panno won),[4] took 23rd at Palma de Mallorca 1970 (interzonal, Robert James Fischer won),[5] tied for 4-6th at São Paulo 1972 (zonal, Mecking won),[6] shared 3rd at Moron 1982 (zonal, Miguel Quinteros won,[7] and tied for 12-13th at Toluca 1982 (interzonal, Lajos Portisch and Eugenio Torre won).[8]

He won at Quito 1975, tied for 3rd-4th at Mar del Plata 1976, and won a match against Francisco Trois (2.5 : 1.5) at Porto Alegre 1976.[9]

Awarded the International Master title in 1969.
